$300 million to be directed to develop the Tashkent subway in Uzbekistan through to 2020

Almaty. December 6. Silkroadnews – Within 2017-2020 Uzbek government plans to direct around $300 million to develop the Tashkent subway, Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports.

“For further development of the Tashkent subway network it is planned to implement two projects for construction of eight underground stations with 10km length. The works are to be financed from the state budget and the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan”, the statement said.

Out of stations planned for construction six will represent a new branch of the so-called light metro in the Sergeli district, with another two to represent the Yunusobod line which construction is being completed. As a total, the project of the Tashkent subway development through to 2020 provides for about 30 new stations to be constructed.
