31.7% of Kyrgyz population suffer from regular malnutrition – SPI rating

Dushanbe. April 10. Silkroadnews – Tajikistan takes the last place among Central Asian countries when it comes to Nutrition and Basic Healthcare. (Turkmenistan has not been rated at all). This is the data of Social Progress Imperative Index.
31.7 of Tajiki population suffer from malnutrition, whereas just 6.4% of people in Kyrgyzstan do. Situation in Uzbekistan is even better with no more than 6.1% suffering from malnutrition. As for Kazakhstan, that number is below 5%.
The number of still born children is rather high in Tajikistan with 12 still born babies per every 1 000. For comparison, in Uzbekistan this number is 6.
As for infant mortality rate it is 58 babies for every 1 000 in Tajikistan. The situation in Uzbekistan is slightly better with 40 babies for every 1 000.
