50 thousand tons of cotton exported Tajikistan in 2014

Almaty. January 29. Silkroadnews - 50 thousand tons of cotton was exported from Tajikistan in 2014, reported the Tajik news agency (TajikTA) with reference to the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sharif Rahimzoda.
"Due to lower prices of raw cotton on world markets, exports of these products in the past year decreased by 24.5% as compared to 2013. Currently, 75 thousand tons of fiber is in the possession of households and enterprises in the country",- he concluded.
According to statistics the total amount of exported cotton last year was $132.1 million, which is 30.2%, or $57.2 million less than in 2013.
