58 suspects of cross-border telecommunications fraud extradited to China from Indonesia

Almaty. August 4. Silkroadnews – 58 suspects in cross-border telecommunications fraud were extradited to China from Indonesia, Chinese news agency Xinhua reported.
A total of 58 suspects in a cross-border telecom scam were brought back to Chengdu in southwest China from Indonesia accompanied by the police of Sichuan Province (Southwest China), the report said.
It is explained that on May 25, a major case of fraud using the Internet was revealed in the Meishan urban district. Scammers took more than 6 million yuan from their victims. Local public security authorities formed a special investigation team for this case and revealed a group engaged in the fake credit and phone cards production and sale in China through telecommunications networks.
On June 23 seven suspects were detained in the cities of Chengdu and Xiamen (Fujian Province, East China). In the future, the investigation team established the existence of a foreign cell of a criminal group in the territory of Indonesia.
In June and July, two groups of policemen headed by the PRC Ministry of Public Security were delegated to Indonesia. On July 29, with the full cooperation of the Indonesian police in Bali and Surabaya, two scammers points were eliminated. 68 suspects were detained.
