Beijing. Jul 3. Silkroadnews - China’s railway network is expected to transport 647 million passengers this summer, which is a 7.6% increase compared to the previous year, representing a daily average of more than 10 million passenger trips, Xinhua reported citing the statement by the China Railway Corporation.
Due to intense summer traffic, the country’s railway network switched to the summer schedule, adding 37 pairs of medium- and long-distance passenger trains.
During 62 days of the summer season, the number of Fuxing bullet trains will be increased to 170 pairs every day, while normally it is just over 114.
Designed and manufactured in China, the Fuxing bullet train made its debut on the Beijing-Shanghai line in June 2017, with a maximum speed of 350 km/h. These trains are more spacious, reliable and energy efficient than previous models.
The company will also improve the quality of travel by providing services, including air conditioning at stations and on trains, online meal ordering and registration using face recognition technology.
