Almaty. December 25. Silkroadnews - $7.9 billion are planned to be allocated to Tajikistan’s medium-term development program implementation, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports on Monday.
Around 70 billion somoni (more than $7.9 billion at the current official exchange rate) is planned to be allocated from the state budget of Tajikistan for 2018-2020 as a part of realization of Tajikistan’s 2016-2020 Medium-term Development Program, the Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Tajikistan says.
According to the source, the 2030 National Strategy for the Development of the Republic of Tajikistan has been implemented over the past two years, the priority measures of its initial stage are included in 2016-2020 Medium-term Development Program.
To achieve these goals, more than 36 billion somoni ($4 billion) have been allocated from the state budget during this period, and around 70 billion somoni ($7.9 billion) are planned to be allocated for 2018-2020.
Reportedly, one of the main tasks in the framework of the strategy is switching the state’s development model from the agrarian-industrial to the industrial-agrarian one.
The key decision in the context is change in proportion between agriculture and industry in gross domestic product.
From year to years a share of agriculture in the country’s gross domestic product varies within the range of 20-25%, a share of industry – does not exceed 12%.
Thus, the task is to raise a share of industry in the GDP structure versus a share of agriculture.
