Beijing. June 27. Silkroadnews - China’s southern boomtown Shenzhen will create a free trade port by the end of 2020 by further reducing bureaucracy and simplifying customs clearance procedures, China Plus reports.
The port of Shenzhen is a collective name for a number of ports along the Shenzhen coastline. It ranks third in the world in terms of the number of docks.
A document released by the municipal government says that by 2020 customs clearance time will be reduced by one third by streamlining procedures and lifting some trade restrictions.
Local authorities also put forward a proposal to jointly develop the port of Shenzhen and the port of Hong Kong and turn them into an international shipping center.
A free trade port features a policy of liberalizing trade and investment at a high level. In April, China announced plans to establish a free trade port in the southern island province of Hainan.
