A Kyrgyz citizen was sentenced to 12 years in Russia for public justification of terrorism in social networks
Almaty. December 21. Silkroadnews - A Kyrgyz citizen was sentenced to 12 years in Russia for public justification of terrorism in social networks, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reported on Thursday referring to Russian media.
The Moscow District Military Court sentenced a Kyrgyz citizen, 23, to 12 years’ imprisonment in a strict-regime correctional colony for preparing a terrorist attack and public justification of terrorism. The name of the convict is not disclosed.
The court materials say, a Kyrgyz born young man was a supporter of a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation. On his page in social network “VKontakte” he posted images triggering interreligious hostility. The experts said the “graphic text images” contained linguistic and psychological signs of inciting hatred towards representatives of another social group.
The investigation also found that in February-March 2017 he carried out e-mail exchange with two residents of the Kirov region, encouraging them to commit terrorist attacks.
