A member of the Mekenchil party has been detained suspected of preparing for a violent seizure of power in Kyrgyzstan

Almaty. October 10. Silkroadnews - A member of the Mekenchil party M. Aspekov has been detained during the search operations on deputy K.Isayev’s criminal case, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reports with reference to the National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the statement, Melis Aspekov, a member of the Mekenchil political party, while acting in the interests of a certain group of people with the aim of seizure of power after announcement of the results of the presidential elections in Kyrgyzstan, was involved in plotting coup to destabilize the situation in the Kyrgyz Republic. With this M.Aspekov, being in contact with K.Isaev and some supporters of the “Respublika” party, made attempts to gather supporters for mass riots to be organized during and after the election of the president of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic informs that a criminal case in this regard was opened on October 9, 2017 for preparation for riots and forcible seizure of power. M. Aspekov was detained on the same day. The investigation is underway.
