A peacekeeping police unit has been formed in China
Almaty. December 23. Silkroadnews – China’s State Council and Central Military Commission approved the establishment of police peacekeeping subdivision of permanent readiness within the Ministry of Public Security (MPS).
The new subdivision staff is planned to consist of more than 300 people, divided into two groups and chosen among the best officers of the Border Police. The average age of police peacekeepers is 27 years old, the youngest peacekeeper is 19 years old. 65% of employees are representatives of the 1990-s generation, 56 of them have experience of participation in peacekeeping operations in Haiti, South Sudan and Liberia.
The peacekeeping police, formed since March of this year, is considered to be fully equipped at present. Its first group, in particular, got the UN certification in October and is ready to leave to work abroad at any given time.
It is reported that 1564 Chinese policemen took part in peacekeeping operations in foreign countries, including Haiti and Liberia through the MPS work since 2004.
