A skirmish on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border
Almaty. August 26. Silkroadnews - Another skirmish occured on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, reported the press service of the State Border Service of Kyrgyzstan.
"On August 25 in the area of Sai Leilek district of Batken region occured a skirmish between the border guards of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan", - said in a statement.
Noted that the Tajik border guards tried to establish a border post at the inconvinients point of the state border. Citizens of Tajikistan, residents of Ovcha-Kalacha using an excavator tried to destroy the bridge over the river Gulkandoz which is used by Kyrgyz peopleto pass to the area of Sai (KR).
"At the request of the Kyrgyz border guards to stop the destruction of the bridge and to remove the uncoordinated section of the border post, Tajiks started throwing stones on Kyrgyzstan border guards. Then Tajik soldiers first opened fire on the Kyrgyz border guards, resulting in a skirmish", - said in a statement.
During the shooting, the Tajik side used mortars. Kyrgyz side has no victims in the shootout.
At this time, the situation on the Tajik- Kyrgyz state border remains tense. Border guards are turned into a stronger version of performance of duty.
