About 600 cars with military cargoes of the CSTO member-states have been delivered with transit through Kazakhstan since the beginning of the year
Almaty. March 9. Silkroadnews - About 600 cars with military cargoes of the Member States of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) were delivered with transit through Kazakhstan this year, KazTAG quoted the deputy minister of defense of Kazakhstan Talgat Mukhtarov saying.
“Last year we delivered through our area about 5 thousand cars. This year, within two months only, we transported about 600 cars on the railway,” - said T. Mukhtarov to the reporters after the extended meeting of the committee on international relations, defense and security of the Senate on Wednesday.
He specified the point in case is the transportation of the personnel, cargo and military purpose products for the military units to the places of military exercises and possible emergencies.
During the meeting the Senate deputies and representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan discussed the draft law “On ratification of the Agreement on Cooperation of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member-states in the field of transportation of military and other forces, their movable property, and military purpose products.”
The agreement was signed in Dushanbe in September 2015. The purpose of the agreement is to determine the order of interaction between the parties while planning and carrying out the delivery of military and other forces, movable property, military products, regardless of the means of transport. The bill has been submitted to the Chamber.
Senators also decided to submit to the Chamber the draft law “On ratification of the Protocol on the agreement extension on establishment of single technical cover system for the railways of the Collective Security Treaty Organization member-states, dated April 28, 2003, and its amendments”.
