ADB announced the creation of a pipeline Turkmeniya- Afghanistan-Pakistan-India

Almaty. November 14. Silkroadnews - State Concern "Turkmengaz", enterprise Afghan Gas, Pakistan's Inter State Gas Systems (Private) Limited and GAIL India, have established a pipeline company Turkmeniya- Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) with equal shares, transfers AfTAG.
"Establishment of the TAPI - a key milestone in the development of the gas pipeline project and the tangible result of the transformation of cooperation between the parties involved, boding better energy security, expand business opportunities and achieve greater peace and stability in the region", - said General Director of the Department of Central and Western Asia, ADB Klaus Gerhauzer.
According to the press service of the Asian Development Bank, by 1.8 thousand km TAPI pipeline will be annually exported up to 33 billion cubic meters of Turkmen natural gas. Turkmenistan has the fourth-largest proven gas reserves. Highway will stretch from the Turkmen field Galkinish to Fazilka on the border of India and Pakistan. The cost of the project exceeds $7.6 billion.
As stated in October, the President of Turkmenistan, "the construction of the TAPI gas pipeline is planned to start in 2015".
ADB in 2013 was appointed byTAPI as transactional advisor to create a pipeline company and the identificate the commercial leader of the consortium, to lead the construction and operation of the pipeline.
