ADB will provide $275 million to Afghanistan for the development of energy infrastructure
Almaty. December 22. Silkroadnews - The Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide Afghanistan a grant of $275 million for the development of energy infrastructure, reported Khaama Press.
It is noted that the first tranche will be allocated for the construction of more than 300 km of power lines.
According to the publication, the remaining tranches will be transferred to 2025.
In addition, it is reported that the relevant tranche support will be aimed at further modernization of power lines, as well as to support local projects on renewable energy and measures for local production of gas and its import through the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India, but will also be provided assistance for the development of human resources relevant agencies and the introduction of a regulatory framework.
