Almaty. November 8. Silkroadnews – Afghan businessmen want to invest in construction of residential complexes in Kazakhstan, KazTAG writes.

“Our delegation includes those who are very interested in investing in the construction sector in Kazakhstan. We are talking about housing. When speaking about the construction sector hundreds of thousands of dollars will not be sufficient amount to discuss, the issue will require millions and millions of dollars. We came with a serious capital and are ready to invest millions of dollars in the construction sector in Kazakhstan”, Executive Director at Kabul Chamber of Commerce and Industries Abdul Hassib Rahimi said at the Kazakhstani-Afghan business forum in Almaty.

He noted there was a war going on in Afghanistan for a long time, yet since 2001 “the country’s economy began to recover”. Indeed, now the investments are important for the country, but Afghan businessmen who arrived in Kazakhstan want to invest their capital in safe markets with a high level of investment protection, A. Rahimi explained.

Besides the construction market development, businessmen from Afghanistan plan to export to Kazakhstan dried fruits, fresh fruits, licorice, cotton and carpets.

At the same time, in his opinion, the creation of the council would be a major step to deepen bilateral economic relations between two countries. The construction projects can include both projects with the government, and the redemption of land for the independent construction.

“We would like to note, to improve the economic ties in Central Asia it is necessary to create a Kazakhstani-Afghan Business Council uniting the representatives from the Kabul Chamber of Commerce and Industries and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken””, A. Rahimi also added.
