Afghan intelligence refutes accusations of governor of Balkh
Almaty. January 4. Silkroadnews - The National Security Council (NSC) of Afghanistan and the Afghan intelligence have rejected the statements by Ata Mohammad Noor about their role in destabilizing the situation in Balkh as baseless, the Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) reports.
A statement by the National Directorate of Security (NDS) says the directorate rejects the accusations against the National Security Council voiced by Noor on Tuesday at a gathering in the city of Mazar-e-Sharif.
The statement also says, the NSC office does not have a guest house at the specified address, and the information provided is baseless.
The NDS claims the guesthouse mentioned during gathering belongs to the new governor of Balkh province and that the VIP protection unit has the security responsibility of the compound, Khaama Press News Agency reports.
To remind, on Tuesday Noor said that some circles from the government intelligence are trying to spark chaos and destabilize the situation in the province of Balkh. In particular, he said, some NDS officers began distributing weapons among the population of the province.
Noor did not provide additional information on his new claims, but noted that the government is trying to destabilize the situation in Balkh.
