Afghan MPs are asking Russia to help with aviation equipment for its air force
Almaty. October 7. Silkroadnews - Afghan MPs asked Russia on military and technical assistance, in particular, the supply of aviation equipment and ammunition for its Air Force, reported Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
This was discussed on Tuesday during a meeting of member of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs of Russia Igor Morozov with delegations from Afghanistan, with whom he discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
During the meeting, the Afghan parliament appealed to Russia for military and technical assistance, in particular, on the supply of aviation equipment and ammunition.
"We are ready to cooperate with Afghanistan in all areas, which will promote a peaceful nation-building, economic development of your country", - assured Morozov.
The Russian politician criticized the US policy for the termination of the joint program with Russia to equip the Afghanistan with helicopters, spare parts and ammunition, as well as pilot training and aircraft maintenance professionals.
He stressed that the provision of assistance to Afghanistan is in interests of Russia, which wishes "to suppress terrorism in the distant in other regions" and counter the threat of escalation of violence in neighboring Uzbekistan and Tajikistan.
