Beijing. February 22. Silkroadnews - On Wednesday, Afghanistan’s President Ashraf Ghani addressed delegates at the Kabul national conference dedicated to the peace process. Once again he invited the Taliban to enter into peace negotiations, the Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
“We will give them (Taliban) options to decide, they must think whether they have the intention to surrender to the will of Allah. Do they realize the expectation of the people or not,” the agency quoted the president.
Meanwhile, representatives of the High Peace Council (HPC) said the state’s leadership still strives to negotiate with the armed opposition, mentioning that after the January attacks Ghani attended the ministry’s meeting confirming the course to continue the negotiations.
As a result of the meeting a declaration on reconciliation has been adopted. The document, as expected, will be submitted to participants of the international conference scheduled to be held in Kabul next week with the participation of 23 states, the EU, UN and NATO, Tolo television reported.
