Afghan President reminded Beijing of default of the Chinese company for the construction of the railway

Almaty. December 11. Silkroadnews - On the sidelines of the international conference "Heart of Asia" in Islamabad Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of China Wang Yi, said Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
During the talks, the representative of China welcomed the commitment of the Afghan problem of peace talks with the "Taliban" and expressed its intention to continue to assist the process, stressing that negotiations should take place subject to the sovereignty of the IRA and taking into account the interests of the parties involved.
In turn, the Afghan president said his country was interested in development of cooperation with China in the fields of infrastructure, energy and water resource management.
However, A.Gani expressed concern at the fact that the Chinese company, which received a license to develop the Aynak copper deposit, did not start the construction of the railway, alleged by the contract. Ashraf Ghani appealed to Beijing to remind about the default.
Speaking about the prospects of construction of the transnational gas pipeline TAPI (Turkmenistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan - India), the Afghan leader offered the Chinese side to take advantage of the transit services of the IRA to acquire Turkmen gas.
Ashraf Ghani also paid attention to the current security problems, noting that the growing instability in the eastern part of Afghanistan could pose a threat, including for China. The President expressed the hope that China will make its contribution in support of the Afghan Air Force in the framework of counteraction against new challenges.
