Beijing. Jul 13. Silkroadnews - The militants of the radical movement “Taliban” took control of a significant part of the Afghan territory bordering with Tajikistan, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reports on Friday referring to the local sources.
On Thursday morning, extremists seized the positions of government forces in Khwaja Ghar, bordering with Tajikistan, said the official of the Afghan province of Takhar governor.
There is a threat the Taliban could seize Khwaja Ghar county, as well as neighboring districts of Dargad, Yangi Qala and Dashti Qala, located on the border with Tajikistan, as currently the authorities in this territory do not have sufficient forces to repel the attacks, the officials note.
Earlier on Thursday, the media reported on the attack of militants in the Dashti Archi district bordering with Tajikistan, the province of Kunduz, adjacent to Takhar.
