Afghanistan announced creation of a new opposition political alliance

Almaty. August 2. Silkroadnews – A protest demonstration of opposition political parties took place in the administrative center of the northern province of Balkh, a city of Mazar-i-Sharif on Tuesday, Afghan Telegraph Agency (AfTAG) reports.
The event was attended by Atta Mohammad Noor, the powerful governor of Balkh province affiliated with the Jamiat-e-Islami party, and the leader of Hezb-e-Wahdat party, the vice-premier Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq. Members of the party of the first vice-president of Afghanistan, General Rashid Dostum, “Junbish-i Milli”, also joined the action.
The protesters criticized the policy of the presidential administration, accusing it of incompetence, and expressed confidence that aggravation of the country’s security situation is a result of the government failures, Pajhwok news agency reported.
The leaders of the parties spoke in support of Dostum, who left the country against the background of the prosecutor’s examination of a case related to his name. Mohaqiq accused the US and the European Union calling for the general’s case thorough investigation of interference with the internal affairs of Afghanistan.
The leaders of the Jamiat-e-Islami and Hezb-e-Wahdat parties announced organization of a new trilateral political association.
Representatives of “Junbish-i Milli” read the statement by Dostum, who was soon going to return to the country. The General’s statement noted the new alliance was created not to fight the system, but to support and correct its shortcomings.
