Afghanistan began the construction of the gas pipeline Jowzjan - Balkh
Almaty. July 7. Silkroadnews - Afghanistan began the construction of 95-kilometer gas pipeline Jowzjan - Balkh, said Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
The start ceremony was attended by the Minister of Mines and Petroleum of IRA Daud Shah Saba. He said that the project will be completed within two years, after which it will be possible to use natural gas from deposits in the province of Jowzjan for electrification of the facilities in Balkh province.
As reminds agency, Balkh imports electricity from neighboring Uzbekistan, but this is not enough to supply the needs of industries. Moreover, the power in Balkh is the first in the country, which will be run on natural gas.
