Afghanistan broke the record for the production of opium

Almaty. November 13. Silkroadnews - Afghanistan broke the record for the production of opium, according to the BBC Russian Service.
"Opium harvest in Afghanistan in 2014 reached record levels", - says the publication with reference to the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
In a review, the UNODC said that over the past year, opium production in the country increased by 17% and the area of its cultivation has increased by 7%.
The main crop of opium harvested in the south and west of the country.
The head of the UN Office Yury Fedotov warned that after the withdrawal of foreign troops from Afghanistan, the country can become a narco-state.
