Afghanistan delayed the start of issuing electronic ID
Almaty. February 10. Silkroadnews - Issuing of new electronic ID is delayed due to the fact that President Muhammad Ashraf Ghani, does not have time to receive his own ID, reported the Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) on Monday.
As it turned out, the issuance of electronic identity cards should start after the receipt of the first ID by the President A.Gani. Member of the Commission for the inspection and control of the lower house of parliament Arif Rahmani said the president now "can not find the time to get his license and give a start on the issuance of ID to the population".
Former board member on the distribution of electronic ID Manguri Rashid said that certain circles made the President to write a letter to the Acting Interior Minister and gave him an indications to delay the issuance.
The newly appointed Interior Minister Nur-ul-Haq Ulum said that identity cards play an important role in the electoral process and shall be done every effort to accelerate the process of its distribution.
