Afghanistan emphasized the TAPI gas pipeline project significance
Almaty. April 11. Silkroadnews – Such projects as the TAPI (Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India) gas pipeline and the Atamyrat-Akin railway serve as bright illustration of close cooperation between Afghanistan and Turkmenistan, Trend reports.

Mohammad Ashraf Ghani expressed his gratitude to the President of Turkmenistan and responsible persons from the Turkmen side for the efforts they made in this regard.
The Afghan leader confirmed his country’s readiness to hold talks and meetings with Turkmenistan to further develop mutually beneficial cooperation.
The construction of the Turkmen section of TAPI started on December 13, 2015.
The total length of the pipeline planned will be 1814 km, including 214 km of section passing across Turkmenistan, 774 km – through Afghanistan, 826 km – through Pakistan to Fazilka settlement on the border with India. The pipeline annual capacity is expected to amount to 33 billion cubic meters.
