Afghanistan's election commission next week will announce the date of the parliamentary elections
Almaty. September 9. Silkroadnews - The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) announced that next week will propose to the President of the IRA Ashraf Ghani, the date of the parliamentary elections, said Afghan News Agency (AfTAG).
As it is known, the parliamentary elections were postponed for the next year, after the electoral reform of IRA.
With regard to the Commission, a package of recommendations for reform of the electoral system, was presented to the prime minister Abdullah Abdullah last Sunday, A. Ghani partially approved the package (7 out of 11 points).
It is noted that among the important recommendations approved by the president - establishment of a committee for the selection of new commissioners and the introduction of 25% quota for women in local and provincial councils.
The legislative decree published by A.Gani, instructed the Ministry of Justice and Administration of the President of the IRA to provide the legal basis for the implementation of the seven recommendations on electoral reform.
