Almaty. September 14. Silkroadnews – The security situation in Afghanistan contributes to tension in Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, Russian presidential envoy to Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov says.

«It raises tension in those countries that have a tangle of their own social and economic concerns, now they have to spend significant funds to ensure the security of their borders with Afghanistan» AfTAG quoted Z. Kabulov saying.

He also adds, «all these republics do also have their own the so-called «fifth columns», adherents to the IS and other Islamic extremists who can get ideological and military «refeeding» from their IS counterparts in Afghanistan».

The expert noted, the situation with Turkmenistan is even more serious, as its border with Afghanistan is quite long and it is not that simple for the country's armed forces to keep control over it.
