Afghanistan start introducing e-government

Almaty. January 14. Silkroadnews - The Afghan Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) is working to introduce the first electronic governmental control system in the country, Afghan News Agency (AfTAG) reports.
The ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with a number of ministries, including the ministry of foreign affairs, finance, information and culture, etc., as well as with the Commission on Civil Service (IARCSC), according to which MCIT shall appoint its advisors to the ministries to implement e-governance.
Communications Minister Abdul Raziq Vahidi said the e-government system shall be 70% implemented over the next two years.
He emphasized that the ministry has already created 31 mobile applications for e-government to be applied in the IT-department of the Ministry.
The minister hopes the electronic government system will contribute to reduce corruption and bureaucracy in governmental institutions.
