Airports of Malaysia provided Chinese tourists with Alipay service

Almaty. September 29. Silkroadnews – Airports of Malaysia have provided Chinese tourists with Alipay service, Malay Mail Online wrote.
“Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has partnered China’s Ant Financial Services Group to offer the Alipay service for Chinese tourists travelling in the country,” the report reads.  
It is noted that at present 55.5% and 56.7% of outlets at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA 2) terminals, respectively, operate through Alipay, which led to a 25% increase in sales at both airports, and in peak periods the sales volume is expected to increase by another 35%.
According to the publication, tourists can make absolutely safe payments through the Alipay payment platform in Chinese yuan, without fear of losing on the difference in the exchange rate.
It is also noted that 4.9 million passengers from China passed through the airports of Malaysia last year. From January to July 2017, their number increased by 22% up to 3.3 million compared to the same period last year.
Currently, Malaysia and China are connected with 470 flights a week.
