All foreigners in Thailand to be tracked by Ministry of Defense
Beijing. May 17. Silkroadnews - All foreigners in Thailand will be tracked by the Ministry of Defense, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency (KazTAG) writes with reference to TASS.
All foreign citizens, on the territory of Thailand, including tourists, will be tracked using a special database of the Kingdom’s defense ministry as a part of the project on national security strengthening, the report said, citing the Bangkok Post publication.
As noted, the project on creating a special resource to be used by the security forces has not yet been completed.
The innovation impact on tourists is not clear yet.
Reportedly, from now on foreign citizens will be obliged to inform the authorities about their current residence address not only when entering the country, but also every 90 days of stay. Otherwise, they will be fined.
Last year Thailand hit a record number of foreign tourists. The resorts of the kingdom hosted 35.4 million tourists spending there more than $50 billion.
