Almaty. September 25. Silkroadnews – The U.S. bombers and jet fighters flew in airspace over waters near the coast of the DPRK, Xinhua news agency reported.
“U.S. Air Force B-1B Lancer bombers and F-15C Eagle fighter escorts on Saturday flew in international airspace over waters east of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), according to the Pentagon,” the agency said on Sunday.
The Pentagon noted, the move underscores the seriousness with which the U.S. takes the DPRK’s reckless behavior.
“This mission is a demonstration of U.S. resolve and a clear message that the President has many military options to defeat any threat,” the statement said.
As the agency reminds, U.S. President Donald Trump, in a speech at the United Nations General Assembly, threatened that the U.S. “will have no choice but to totally” the DPRK if compelled to defend itself or the allies. After this threat, the DPRK declared that it might test the hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean.
In turn, China called on all the relevant parties to avoid any actions that could increase tensions on the Korean peninsula.
“The current situation on the peninsula is severe and complicated. Only if all sides bear their due responsibilities, can the peninsula nuclear issue be truly resolved, and peace and stability restored in the region. What parties concerned should do now is to strictly and comprehensively implement the UN Security Council resolutions and make positive efforts to solve the issue through the dialogue. China opposes unilateral sanctions imposed by any country outside the framework of the UN Security Council,” the agency quoted saying by the PRC’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Lu Kang.
