Almaty. April 22. Silkroadnews – The chairman of the board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Tigran Sargsyan, met the president of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia (AmCham) Alexis Rodzianko, during the meeting the parties discussed the prospects of further cooperation between EEC and AmCham, the press service of the commission reports.

The head of the EEC board noted the global economic crisis and tough conditions of the global economy development push the states to search for measures that would stop the slowdown in the growth of national economies and create the momentum for their development.

“Creation of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and further integration strengthening provide the conditions to form the sustainability for economies of the EEU countries (...). There is a market with a population of more than 180 million people operating in the territory of the EEU based in compliance with almost the uniform and transparent rules on the basis of WTO norms. This makes it open and understandable for investors, including the foreign ones, and attractive to the third countries,” Tigran Sargsyan said at the meeting.

He also noted the EEC’s interest in the development of system dialogue with businesses and business associations, including the foreign ones, among them the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia. According to the chairman of the EEC board, the Commission is open for cooperation with foreign partners and business associations on the widest range of issues using the variety of formats.

In his turn, the AmCham president A. Rodzianko emphasized a serious interest the businesses demonstrate toward the Eurasian Economic Commission and EEU project as a whole.

“At present the most relevant topics, in the opinion of Rodzianko, are the licensing, including the medical supplies, and the EEU Customs code draft. Under changes in the market domestic demand it becomes very important for the businesses to reduce the red-tape chain and get the most favorable conditions to transfer the goods under the export-import operations,” said the EEC press service.

A. Rodzianko showed interest to facilitate further dialogue between AmCham and EEC. The parties have agreed to continue their business contacts.
