Almaty. September 30. Silkroadnews - President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in his speech in New York, said that to fight against terrorism, it is necessary to achieve the prevention of drug trafficking, reported the UN news center.
"The growing number of armed conflicts and terrorist acts, food, energy, financial and economic crises, environmental degradation, climate change, the spread of infectious diseases require our collective and comprehensive action", - said Rahmon.
According to him, an integral part of the overall fight against terrorism and organized crime is the prevention of drug trafficking, the extent of which is growing from year to year. Part of the proceeds from the sale of drugs, finance acts of terrorism and organized crime.
In this regard, the President spoke about the activities of National Agency for Drug Control, created with the support of the United Nations.
"During the period from 1995 to the present time, our law enforcement authorities seized 111 tons of drugs that accounts for 206.65 million doses and could make addicted almost 50 million citizens of the planet. These figures indicate that Tajikistan came in the top ten countries of seized drugs", - said the head of the Tajik state.
