Annual oil refining capacity set to reach 19 bln tonnes in Kazakhstan - Isekeshev

Astana. May 23. Silkroadnews – Kazakhstan plans to modernise all 3 of its oil refineries by 2016-2017. This will allow to increase oil refining capacity to 19 bln tonnes a year and satisfy domestic demand for airplane fuel of Euro-4 and Euro-5 standard. Kazakh Minister of Industry and New Technologies Aset Isekeshev said during panel discussion at VII Astana Economic Forum.
He reckons that by the end of the decade petrochemicals will constitute 5% of refining industry in Kazakhstan.
