Almaty. November 28. Silkroadnews - Annual trade between the countries of Central Asia reached more than $7 billion, said Deputy Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Farida Muminova on Friday at the international conference "The joint development and prosperity of the countries along the Great Silk Road".
As noted by the representative of Tajikistan, the revival of the Silk Road will provide an opportunity to increase the volume of trade at times, but keep in mind, that many times will increase the load on the transport routes of the region.
"Given the fact that our countries do not have access to the sea, we must pay special attention to the development of transport infrastructure between the countries of Central Asia", - she added.
As reported by F. Muminova, an increase in turnover will increase the GDP of the countries of Central Asia.
"Interaction of countries along the Great Silk Road, will lead to an increase in transit trade and the development of large markets not only in these countries, but also in countries that are around them", - she added.
Conference "Common development and prosperity of countries along the Great Silk Road" was organized by the National Institute for Strategic Studies in Kyrgyzstan and the parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs. The conference was attended by experts from Kyrgyzstan, Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, India.
