Arab countries claim Qatar to break diplomatic relations with Iran

Almaty. June 23. Silkroadnews – Four Arab countries have claimed Qatar to break diplomatic relations with Iran, Russian media report with reference to the Associated Press.
“According to the document, Qatar should also close the Turkish military base located on its territory and close down the Al Jazeera TV channel. The Arab states have also demanded Doha to pay a compensation, the exact amount of which has not been specified though. Qatar has 10 days to meet all the requirements”, the publications read.
In early June, the Wall Street Journal wrote, the leading Arab states began to compile a list of requirements for Qatar. The requirements touched on steps aimed to reduce the volume of broadcasting of Al Jazeera, stop the alleged terrorists’ financing, break off relations with the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood.
On June 5, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, the interim government of Libya, the Maldives and the Republic of Mauritius announced break of diplomatic relations with Doha. The states explained their decision by the support the emirate provided for terrorism and extremist ideology, its hostile policy and interference in the affairs of the Arab states. A number of states have announced about other measures taken, including cessation of sea and air traffic, stopping of banking operations, expulsion of diplomats and nationals of Qatar.
