Bishkek. March 27. Silkroadnews – 30 000 children don’t attend schools in Kyrgyzstan, as the Acting PM, Jomart Otorbayev informed at the national consultation on children’s issues in Kyrgyzstan.
“It is absolutely unacceptable that 30 000 children in our country do not attend schools. 80% of the 10 000 children who live in social institutions [orphanages and boarding schools of orphanage type] have 1 or 2 parents. Our main task is to restore family values, is to give children families”, Mister Otorbayev says.
“The family support programs in Kyrgyzstan are not operating at desired levels. There are many problematic families that don’t devote necessary attention to their children in the country. We need to enable families to provide all the necessities for their children”, he added.
