Almaty. December 22. Silkroadnews - Around 700 thousand Kyrgyz citizens live and work abroad, the data has been voiced during the parliamentary hearings on the law “On the state policy to support compatriots abroad” on Friday, the Kyrgyz Telegraph Agency (KyrTAG) reports.
“According to official data, 700 thousand Kyrgyz citizens live and work abroad. Most of them in Russia - 640 thousand, in Kazakhstan - 35 thousand, in Turkey - 30 thousand, in the USA - 15 thousand, in China 3,5 thousand,” vice-speaker Cholpon Sultanbekova said.
At the end of 10 months, labor migrants’ remittances to their homeland exceeded $2 billion.
