As a part of the anti-terrorism cooperation one shall get rid of ideological factors, China believes

Almaty. April 28. Silkroadnews – Chinese Defense Minister Chang Wanquan took part in the 5th Moscow International Security Conference and spoke at the first plenary session with his speech on “Terrorism – the key threat to the global security”, Xinhua news agency writes.

Chang Wanquan said when fighting against the terrorism one shall use a complex of political, economic, cultural and diplomatic methods and destroy the soil feeding the terrorists. As a part of the anti-terrorism cooperation it is necessary to get rid of ideological factors, but respect the cultural traditions, social systems and each other’s development, initiate the dialogue and contacts.

The head of China’s Defense Ministry also told about the policy and position of China on combating terrorism and the efforts the country applies in this regard.

“The Chinese government has always opposed terrorism in all the forms and has always defended the need to expand the international anti-terrorism cooperation within the UN framework. China is a country that suffers from terrorism. The terrorist forces, in particular the “East Turkistan Islamic Movement”, constantly plan and carry out terrorist attacks and acts of violence in the territory of China, acting as a serious security threat to the country’s national security and the Chinese people’ lives and property. The fight against the forces of “East Turkistan Islamic Movement” is an important component of the fight against the international terrorism”, the publication says with reference to the Minister.

Chang Wanquan stressed the Chinese government will continue to work with the international community to prevent and combat terrorism in all its forms.
