ASEAN supported initiatives put forward by China

Almaty. August 7. Silkroadnews – ASEAN has supported a seven-point proposal put forward by China, “People’s Daily” reported.
According to Monday report, a seven-point proposal on future China-ASEAN cooperation put forward by the Chinese side find a positive response in the ASEAN.
The initiative proposed, as noted, includes the following points: to formulate a 2030 Vision for China-ASEAN Strategic Partnership, to synergize the Belt and Road Initiative and the Master Plan on ASEAN Connectivity, to designate 2018 as China-ASEAN Year of Innovation, to accelerate the implementation of the outcomes on upgrading China-ASEAN Free Trade Area, to fully implement the China-ASEAN Joint Statement on Production Capacity Cooperation, to build new pillars for people-to-people exchanges and cooperation, and to expedite negotiations on the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership.
Both China and ASEAN expressed their satisfaction with the achievements reached within the framework of the 15-years strategic partnership and agreed to further strengthen their cooperation.
The publication also touched on the 14th China-ASEAN Expo to be held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region (South China) in September. “One Belt, One Road” exhibition zone will be a part of the expo for the first time, as well as a special exhibition area “Advanced intellectual production”.
The total area of the expo’s pavilions, the report notes, is to cover 124 thousand square meters, including 89 thousand square meters allocated for the Chinese pavilions (including 4.4 thousand square meters’ pavilion planned for “One Belt, One Road” site) and 35 thousand square meters allocated for pavilions of ten ASEAN countries and other states outside the region. The US, Australia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Kazakhstan, Sri Lanka and other countries applied to take part in the expo. Special pavilions are expected to be created by Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and other ASEAN countries.
The site allocated for the Advanced intellectual production devoted to digital, intellectual, green and Internet technologies, is planned to show drones, intelligent robots, 3D printers, meteorological equipment, intelligent devices, as well as energy-saving and environmental technologies and equipment.
