Attorney General of RK proposed to hold in Astana summit to combat extremism

Almaty. February 20. Silkroadnews - Kazakhstan delegation headed by the Prosecutor General Askhat Daulbaev participated in the summit to counter violent extremism, which took place in the United States, reports KazTAG citing the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan.
"The main topics of the agenda were the issues related to the development of effective policies to prevent the growth of violent extremism, curbing the driving forces behind the creation of safe communities", - said in a statement on Friday.
Speaking at the forum, the chief prosecutor of Kazakhstan supported the idea of ​​consolidating the efforts of all countries to prevent and combat all forms of violent extremism, told about accepted in Kazakhstan measures to strengthen the prevention of extremism and terrorism.
The Attorney General said that a high level of threat of extremism and terrorism to international security requires new methods to counteract and deeper integration into the world community. According to A.Daulbaev, joint efforts should be directed at preventing and combating the spread of radical ideology, experience sharing effective methods of prevention of extremism and terrorism, the prevention of exit of citizens abroad to participate in hostilities, timely search and detention of radical elements trying to escape in other countries, detection and suppression of terrorist financing facts.
"The Attorney General offered to host the next regional summit to counter violent extremism this year in Astana", - says the report.
The forum adopted a joint communiqué in which participants emphasized their commitment to the fight against violent extremism in all its forms and manifestations, as well as the need to intensify the efforts of the international community to counter the radicalization of society.
The summit was attended by over 60 delegations of the world, including representatives of governmental and non-governmental organizations, civil society, experts, leaders of the clergy and youth.
