Azerbaijan and Iran plan creating a joint venture to produce medicines for plants and animals

Almaty. May 20. Silkroadnews – Azerbaijan and Iran may create a joint venture to produce medicines for plants and animals, Azerbaijan’s minister of economic development Shahin Mustafayev said, Trend reports.

During his meeting with Iran’s minister of agriculture Mahmoud Hojjati S. Mustafayev also suggested the Iranian exporters to use Azerbaijani logistics center in Aktau (Kazakhstan). According to the minister, agriculture is an important area of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran, both countries have wide opportunities to expand cooperation in this field.

“Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with Iran in the field of cotton, seed production and cultivation of seedlings. We also want to learn the experience of Iran in the field of dried fruit harvesting and expand cooperation in the production of dried fruits in the territory of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is also interested in Iranian farm equipment procurement,” S. Mustafayev said.

In his turn, the Iranian minister stressed the importance of current potential to expand the relations between two countries in the agricultural sector.

He said, having expanded their trade relations Azerbaijan and Iran could organize a joint export to the third countries. M. Hojjati also noted the interest of the Iranian farmers to Azerbaijan’s land leasing and joint investments.
