Ban Ki-moon has appointed a new special representative of the UN in Central Asia

Almaty. March 19. Silkroadnews - "UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has decided to appoint Petko Draganov from Bulgaria as his Special Representative and Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia", -  reports UN news center .
It is noted that P. Draganov replaced Miroslav Yench from Slovakia, which became head assistant of the UN Political Affairs.
Prior to his appointment P. Draganov served as Deputy Director General of the UN Conference on Trade and Development.
United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia was established by the Security Council on 16 May 2007 on the proposal of the five Central Asian countries.
