Baroness Stern to visit Tajikistan for prison reform discussions
Dushanbe. May 20. Silkroadnews – Baroness Stern is to visit Tajikistan, where she plans to discuss prison reform, as UK Embassy in Tajikistan reports.
Vivien Stern will be in Tajikistan for 7 days. She is to take part in a number of ministerial and parliamentary hearings. She is also to continue working with Tajikistan government on key issues of prison reform.
Vivien Stern is to visit Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Province, where she is to meet its Chairperson as well as civil society representatives of Khorugh.
Baroness Stern served as Secretary General of International Prison Reform between 1989 and 2006. She is also a chairman of parliamentary group on Tajikistan that is composed of all British MPs interested in Tajikistan.
