Bishkek plans to build more than a thousand sites for waste collection

Almaty. April 20. Silkroadnews – Bishkek plans to build 1 325 thousand sites for the collection of solid municipal wastes (SMW), KyrTAG reports.

“According to the EBRD project “Improving solid waste management system in Bishkek”, next year it is planned to construct 1 325 sites for waste collection. Of these, 725 new sites will be built and 600 are the existing ones to be repaired. The project shall be completed till next year,” the head of the project Almira Gilyatullina said.
5 326 euro-containers, 300 plastic tanks, 1 000 spare wheels and 15 removable containers shall be purchased according to the contract for these purposes until the end of May 2016.

This project will be a pilot one. Project implementation period is calculated as till the end of 2018. The project is implemented in accordance with the EBRD agreements. The project costs make 22 million euros: 11 million credit funds and 11 million euros as a grant.
