Britain approved a project on nuclear power plant construction in cooperation with the Chinese company

Almaty. September 16. Silkroadnews – The UK government approved the Hinkley Point C power plant project according to the new agreement with the French company EDF, the newspaper «People's Daily» reports.

The approval took place two months after the new government has called for a review of nuclear program.

British secretary of state in the department of business Greg Clark said the government has decided to give a «green light» to this nuclear power plant of the country that will become the first for the two decades, though added new measures will be taken to strengthen the security.

The Hinkley Point C power plant will be built in cooperation with the Chinese corporation China General Nuclear Power that holds a one-third stake in the project and the French state-owned company of EDF, and is designed to meet the UK electricity needs of the future.
