Almaty. February 21. Silkroadnews – Creating an international consortium within the framework of “Eurasia” oil and gas project is discussed in Kazakhstan, KazTAG writes.

According to press service of the Kazakhstani Ministry of Energy, the first round of negotiations with potential participants of the international project “Eurasia”, among them JSC “NC “KazMunayGas””, Eni, Rosneft, CNPC, SOCAR, NEOS Geosolutions companies, began on February 16, under the chairmanship of Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kanat Bozumbayev.

The participants expressed their intention to sign a memorandum of understanding to negotiate creation of the consortium and prepare the exploration contract.

The experts believe, the prospects for the resource base significant growth are related to exploration of deep horizons where large hydrocarbon accumulations can be discovered. Prior to study and organization of exploration works, an extensive work on the geological study must be carried out first.

It was reported, in 2017 the Ministry of Energy intends to put out to tender more than 60 subsoil sites.
