By 2025 Uzbekistan to produce more than 63 thousand tons of lemons

Beijing. March 12. Silkroadnews - By 2025 Uzbekistan plans to produce more than 63 thousand tons of lemons, the presidential resolution says, the Uzbek Telegraph Agency (UzTAG) reports.
The document “On measures on further improvement of lemon cultivation in the republic” noted, Uzbekistan established the Association of Lemon Producers and Exporters, its founders are 10 enterprises specializing in the sector, among the members there are the farms and other business entities. The executive office of the organization is set to be located in the city of Karshi.
According to the resolution, in 2018-2021 new lemon cultivation sites will be set on an area of 2.24 thousand hectares, or 454-675 hectares annually, mainly in the Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya and Samarkand regions.
Thus, by 2025 the harvest yield is expected to grow up to 63,335 tons.
