Car terminal will start operation at the border between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan

Almaty. April 5. Silkroadnews - International terminal will start operating at the checkpoint “Dusti” in the town of Tursunzoda in Tajikistan on the border with Uzbekistan, the Tajik Telegraph Agency (TajikTA) reported on Tuesday.

“The project on construction of the international cross-border car terminal at the checkpoint “Dusti” under the regional customs department of Tursunzoda town will be completed in the next few days,” the customs administration of Tajikistan informs.

Hundreds of people and heavy goods vehicles cross the border between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan at the checkpoint “Dusti”, thus, the post operates twenty-four hours. The outdated equipment made it necessary to carry out its modernization. The project started in May 2014.

Several buildings are located on the territory of the terminal, including the customs administration, hotels, warehouses for storage of goods, refrigerators, car repair shop, parking, currency exchange point, medical center and others. The total terminal area takes 5 hectares.
