Ceremony of National Flag-raising at Tian’anmen Square marked the beginning of China’s National Day celebration

Almaty. October 2. Silkroadnews – Ceremony of National Flag-raising at Tian’anmen Square marked the beginning of China’s National Day celebration, China Daily reported.
“At day break, more than 115,000 people from across China gathered at the Tian’anmen Square at the heart of Beijing to watch the raising of the National Flag. Sunday marked the 68th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China,” the report said.
At 6:05 a.m. the national flag guardsmen brought a national flag to the square. People listened silently to the national anthem played and watched the national flag raising.
Reportedly, a 17-meter basket with flowers and fruits, including persimmons, pomegranates, apples, peonies and Chinese roses, symbolizing the flourishing country was installed at the backdrop of the square.
According to the publication, watching the national flag raising ceremony at the Tian’anmen Square on the country’s birthday has been a way of Chinese celebrating the National Day.
China’s National Day is celebrated with a week-long holiday. In addition, this year China will celebrate the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival, featuring family gathering, on October 4.
